The Russian research vessel ATLANTIDA operates under the scientific research component of the Morocco-Russian fisheries agreement. Its research activities are carried out jointly with INRH and consist of the acoustic assessment of small pelagic stocks in the Moroccan Atlantic waters and their recruitment.
On October 19, 2017, the Russian research vessel ATLANTIDA arrived at the port of Casablanca for its final stopover before starting its offshore survey cruise for small pelagics and the marine environment in the Moroccan EEZ, between Cap Cantin and Cap Blanc. from October 20 to November 30, 2017.
On this occasion, a meeting was held onboard the ship between the Russian experts of the AtlantNiro Institute and INRH in order to rediscuss the prospecting protocols planned during the cruise, particularly the follow-up of the recruitment of small pelagics, Collection of oceanographic parameters, plankton sampling and measurements related to studies of the "Target strenght" TS of small pelagics to be carried out.
A ceremony was also organized onboard by INRH in honor of the Russian experts who witnessed the fruitful bilateral collaboration that has always existed between the two institutes.
